Schedule of Events

Note: Since people have been asking, the manner of dress for the weekend is however you are most comfortable, some people will be in costume, but the majority will be in mundanes - especially for the evening reception/dinners.

Friday, February 19th:

6pm-9pmRegistration -
8pm-11pm*Reception - Kicking things off Friday evening with a mixer and catch up reception - Hors de oeuvres and wine can be purchased for $20. Also on the menu is a special screening of Jason Sarrow's Faire Documentary, Faire: An American Renaissance. As entertainers portraying history, it is important to understand our own history as well and this movie connects us with the origins of the genre of renaissance faire.

According to Jason and his documentary, in 1963 on a small field on Haskels Rascals Ranch, Los Angeles a local school project blossomed into an event now known as the “Renaissance Pleasure Faire”. This event sparked an explosion of the hand crafted movement, guerilla theater, and living history re-enactments. Within its first two decades, the Renaissance Faire concept had spread all over the world. Recently, is has struggled to redefine itself in changing times. It now competes with the internet, video games, and other alternative subcultures such as Raves and Burning Man. This documentary explores the amazing true story of a community that sparked a phenomenon.

Jason will be available during and after the mixer for Q&A and will have a table set up during the weekend should you wish to purchase your own copy of this unique movie.
